Meet the team

Lauren Daly, Director

Lauren completed her two year legal traineeship in Glasgow and Edinburgh with Maclay Murray and Spens LLP (now Dentons). She is from Kirkcaldy, attended Kirkcaldy West Primary and Balwearie High School and obtained her Law Degree and Diploma in legal practice both at Dundee University.

Lauren has an interest in commercial property and has acted for both Landlord and Tenant during all stages of Commercial Leases. She also has a lot of experience in the Sale and Purchase of Commercial Property. Lauren is also a skilled and experienced practitioner in and deals on a daily basis with residential Conveyancing. Lauren also regularly advises clients on creation of their wills and is a Notary Public.

Scott Ford, Director

Scott is from Kirkcaldy and attended Kirkcaldy West Primary and Balwearie High School before obtaining his Scots Law Degree and Diploma in Legal Practice at Dundee University. Scott has spent all of his legal career training and practicing in Fife. 

Scott now has a vast experience in dealing with a variety of transactions and mainly specialises in dealing with private client matters, including Wills, Powers of Attorney and Executries, as well as also being a very experiened and highly regarded residential Conveyancing practitioner. He is also a Notary Public and can assist clients with any documents which require to be notarised. 

Fiona Ford, Director

Fiona originally came from Lanarkshire and graduated from Aberdeen University in 1981 where she was the youngest graduate in her year. She then obtained her post-graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Dundee University in 1982 and has spent the years since then in practice as a solicitor both in private practice and local government in Dundee and then in Kirkcaldy, where she gained a wealth of experience in Conveyancing and Estate Agency and in dealing with Commercial and Residential Property, as well as Private Client work involving Wills, Executries, Powers of Attorney, Separation and Divorce.

Fiona also now heads up our Estate Agency department and has grown it vastly over the years since she started the firm of FDL and is available to provide professional and empathetic advice in all her areas of expertise. 

Nigel Ford, Consultant

Born in Kirkcaldy, Nigel graduated from Aberdeen University in 1981 and then completed a Post Graduate Legal Practice Diploma before commencing legal practice in 1982. His Traineeship was with the former firm of Clark Oliver (now Thorntons) in Angus. Nigel has worked in the years since in private practice, gaining experience at assistant and partner level in both court and non-court related matters with other firms.

Nigel is our highly regarded and vastly experienced Legal Consultant. With many years of experience in dealing with matters relating to Wills, Executries, Powers of Attorney, Family Law, and Private Client work and he provides our clients with sympathetic and professional advice in these areas.

Lynne Mackie, Senior Accredited Paralegal

Lynne comes from Levenmouth and has worked in legal practice since 1993.

Lynne is a loyal and dedicated member of our staff and she has accumulated a vast amount of experience over the years in dealing with clients directly in relation to the many and varied legal issues on which the firm is consulted.

Lynne is also our Senior Residential Conveyancing Paralegal, having worked with us since 1998 and is qualified and fully Accredited with the Law Society of Scotland. Lynne also deals with many of the day to day enquiries which clients of the firm have.

Amie Ross, Accredited Paralegal

Amie is a former pupil of Kirkcaldy High School and left there in 1999 to work as an office junior with another local firm of solicitors. Thereafter, she joined us in 2000, gained a huge practical experience with us as a legal receptionist / property assistant and Conveyancing secretary.

Amie is a loyal and dedicated member of staff who is now also one of our Senior Residential Conveyancing Paralegals, being fully Accredited by the Law Society of Scotland. Amie is very highly experienced and is here to assist with client enquiries.

Emily Young, Accredited Paralegal

Emily joined Fords Daly Legal in July 2014. She is from Glenrothes and studied at St. Andrews High School in Kirkcaldy.

Emily is now a skilled and experienced Law Society of Scotland Accredited Conveyancing Paralegal. Emily deals with Residential Sales, Purchases, Remortgages and Transfers of Title. Emily has vast experience of dealing with the Scottish Government First Home Fund, Help to Buy Scheme and LIFT Scheme. Emily joined us when she left school to assist our estate agency team and also regularly assists our Estate Agency team with transactions.

Shannon Robertson

Shannon is from Glenrothes and attended Glenrothes High School. During this time she was a member of the Scottish Youth Parliament. Shannon started Fife College in 2019, undertaking an HND in Legal Services, completing her course in 2021, graduating officially in March 2022 due to Covid delays. Shannon worked with another legal firm for a short period before joining us here at FDL to progress her career. She is currently training with us as a Legal Secretary, working with dedication in the areas of Conveyancing, Executries, Powers of Attorney and Private Client work.

Cara Steedman

Cara is a former pupil of Balwearie High School and began her journey in 2016 as a trainee Legal Secretary with two other local firms before eventually joining our team in the summer of 2022.

Cara now has a lot of experience in various aspects of legal office administration and is now a skilled, loyal and hard working Legal Secretary who deals mainly with Conveyancing, Executries, Powers of Attorney and Private Client matters.
